I took this image from a post about the difference between a whisper and a shout. I linked to it in my image. So if you want to read it just click the image. I like to share.
However, that was all a non sequitur to what I am going to write about today so let’s get a blogging. I was surfing the net today and I found an article I thought a friend would be interested in. I looked for a “Tell a friend” link but there was none. What to do? Copy and past the link and “compose” a new email. Ok listen, I like my friend but I am not going to go to work for them as a researcher. All of a sudden, I remembered what may be an obvious keyboard shortcut to some of you Alt + F and then E. This opened my default email program, put the title of the article in the subject, and the link in the body - all in about 2 seconds literally. One letter type to auto fill the address and send. This could become a habit.

A key aspect to being organized is being ready. One thing I do has to do with how I set up my Calendar in Palm. If you have a Palm you may find that right now your calendar is either set to the agenda view or the daily view. I set my calendar to the month view. This saves me from going to the monthly or weekly view to schedule something. I find that most of the time when I schedule something it is not on the same day and on some occasions not even in the same week. When your Palm opens up to the monthly view you are in most cases one tap away from the day you want to schedule an appointment for. What if you want to see what you are doing today? Like I said, a key aspect to being organized is being ready and I am ready for that question. My reply is that you can get to today with 2 clicks of your center select button on your 5 way navigator or 2 clicks of your calendar hard key. Display options under the options menu allows you to set the default view.
Bonus Trick: If you use your stylus and write a number (in the day view) you are brought to a screen where you can select the time for your appointment. So to recap, you can hit the calendar button to see the current month, select the day for your appointment with one tap, and set the time for it in one stroke. This is just 3 movements. Maybe I should have titled this “Palm Calendar Quick Taps.”
