Palm (Organized.com) GTD Project Invite.

Palm Organized inviteI am pushing the envelope and starting to involve other people now. I have gotten much busier in recent times and have worked on several other projects, so why create another one? This one will actually help you and I “Get Things Done” on a whole other level. A level that could not happen left to my own devices. I am looking for only a few people to test this new system out and gather some valuable feedback. Hopefully while we are engaged in this project we’ll be able to get things done. Just send me an email if you’re interested and I will get back to you on what’s involved in a little while and pick a few of you to begin working with. This project will probably last about a month.

If you are familiar with GTD Bonsai even better. It would also be useful if you have things to get done want to authentically implement GTD and not just tweak your system. Again, if you are familiar with my system, have a sense of humor and can keep this project between us you just may fit the bill. Just send me an email at Palmorganizedatyahoo.com and tell me a little about yourself. Till then best wishes.

Want a Calendar for your Tasks? Tsk2Cal

Task to CalendarThe right application for the right job. Tsk2Cal is the perfect niche application that meets our need to have an archive of our tasks in a simple intuitive way. It will transfer your completed tasks to your calendar so on any day you can see what you accomplished that does not fall into the category of an appointment. It adds each task as an all-day event in your calendar so they can be seen right on top. You have a few setting that can determine if you want to list priority info or have undated task default to today as holder for your tasks. Click here to pick up.

When’s the next Palm coming out? TimeOMat

Timeomat ProgamPast Present Future. These may seem like dimensions in time that we traffic but that is just an illusion. We are always in the present. It is from this perspective that we can view both the past and the future. The future is the only dimension where we can make a difference in terms of what happens. Our awareness of events in the future keep us on track as we gain momentum towards our desired future. Being unaware of upcoming events makes you look like a character in a Philip K Dick novel. You’ll be like someone who lost their memory and is only beginning to recall the events that everybody else thinks you should know. TimeOMat allows you to schedule all these events like you would in a calendar except in this case you’ll see a countdown of each of them in order. If you are the kind of person who wonders how long it is to a particular event this will be perfect for you. This is perfect as an FYI type program for events that are several days or weeks apart because you’ll see them all in one list. I am currently waiting to put in the date for the next Apple convention or Palm product launch. Unfortunately, there are no alarms that come with this. You’ll have to use your calendar for alarms as events reach the upcoming week.

The Time Game - An Action Plan for your Goals

The Time Game Palm Program The Time Game is a very unique program and it definitely places well in the productivity column. I was reading up the manual today for this post. This software does a very good job of setting you up to win in the game of accomplishing your goals. Each goal you have is called a game and each game is made up of several action steps. The steps can be assigned a point value and can even be scheduled as items with alarms in either The Time Game, Datebook, or Tasks Program on your Palm. It even goes further and creates charts based on what they call “Your Success Factor” Past games can be archived. I recommend visiting their site and taking a look at their manual. The thing I like most about this, besides the charting of your progress, is that each “game” can have as many steps/actions within a certain time period. You see, each game has a beginning and end date so this allows you to set up a game that can be renewed and you would be able to compare from week to week or month to month and assess your ongoing growth and development. Click here to visit the site and let the games begin.

The Best Way to Make a Time Log on your Palm II

The face of a clock Shortly after my last post I realized I needed to update it and add today’s post to make a clarification. This realization came by being reminded that Natara also has a time log program. My update included a rewriting of the title for yesterday’s post with the inclusion of one word - free. Natara has a time log program called Quanto as in “how much” of your time are you spending doing that? One of the key differences between this and Timesheet besides price is that Timesheet is made for a work schedule. There are features tailor made for tracking overtime and it caters to the punching in and out model of the workplace. My updated article on Timesheet reflects this. What does Quanto do?

The Best Free Way to Make a Time Log on your Palm

Watching the WatchWhere did all the time go. How you “spent” your time is an impartial and yet 100% accurate ongoing forgone conclusion. You can’t change it. How you “spent” your time is not inherently bad or good nor is it inherently right or wrong. (You may want to notice your tendency to favor one of these over the another - either way can be a pitfall). However, how you “spent” your time is always true and it is never false. So given there is nothing you can do about how your time was spent in the past, your only opportunity is to alter how it could be spent going forward. For example, one of the first things you could do with regards to this issue is answer the question “Am I going to continue to read this post or am I going to do something else?”

For whom does the bell toll…

Clocher Palm ProgramThe bell tolls for thee. This is almost a follow up post for the one yesterday. If you decide to archive your tasks by the hour you can use this program to alert you to those hourly intervals. This little program allows you to set hourly alerts for the hours you choose during the day. The bells can be set to ring once for each hour or ring for the same number that are in the current hour. The really great thing about this program (besides being free) is that the sounds are like real clock tower bells. According to the developer they are real bell rings recorded & digitized.

Like I said earlier, this program would make a great companion for the To Do Plus Archiving hack for cataloging your tasks/next actions by hour. It is a straight forward simple program to use and even if you don’t use it for tracking your hours by tasks it makes a great replacement for the hourly chime on your watch. The developer is French so don’t get concerned if you see French directions. You can get English directions just by going to the options menu. The program is free and you can get it at this great Palm freeware site. Click here to go there. Enjoy.
