Palm Organized 2 Week Vacation - Back May 30

I thought it only appropriate to let you all know that I will be taking a 2 week hiatus just like television shows do. This does not necessarily mean that I won’t be updating the site here and there between now and then. However, it won’t be at the regular daily average and so I saw it fit to call it a vacation. I will continue to do work on the GTD Template updating my first post about it to make it more user friendly and understandable. I will also continue to send out templates. I will be working on new material during this period. This time will give me the freedom to do the research work I love. At around the time I get back the D Conference will be well underway and there should be some exciting news especially from Palm’s Jeff Hawkins.

Palm Organized 2.0

This is not a productivity related post per se. This is a post about the blog. In fact, I even have a category called blog that is related to the growth and development of Palm Organized. Yesterday Palm Organized became 2 months old. You are just as much a part of this milestone as I am. Your comments, your readership, your visits, your recommendations and even your lurking, all contributed to the growth and development of this blog. Together, we used this common intermediary tool called the internet to build this relationship that 2 months ago never even existed. I hope this is relevant to you just as much as any of the other posts listed on here. One thing that is on my mind constantly (besides “What will I post today?”) is the development of this blog. I am still swimming around in the large pool that is the blogosphere. I haven’t reached the shore yet but I am positive it will come into view on the horizon. You serve as guiding winds to that shore.
I welcome your comments, suggestions, and feedback. All of you have been regular participants if you have commented or subscribed so you should have my email by now & can email me directly if you’d rather not leave a public comment. For those of you who have no problem with leaving something public, you may want to go one step further and even leave an audio comment like Chris was brave enough to do about a week ago. What’s next?

Friday Night X-Vids
Every Friday Night will debut a new X-Video. This is yet another standardization of the whole blog process. I really enjoy the whole movie going experience and really like the creativity and talent out there. Finally, there will be a set schedule so you know when the new stuff will be coming out. It won’t be difficult to remember as it is the same time regular movies come out. It is almost a paradox to say Fri-Day Night but I would like to say, that in terms of what time these videos will debut, I will be aiming for after 5pm but before 10pm. These videos will be about a variety of subjects but since I like movies they will most likely be entertainment type fare. I do plan on showcasing productivity type videos as well, somewhere down the road. Presently though, I intend to just include them inside the related posts. So stay tuned for Friday Night X-vids. Coming this Friday at a computer near you.
SMS Text News put me on blast! I’m Pissed!

Some things really piss me off. I sent an email to some guy named Ewan at SMSTextNews.com to let him know about some sms messaging program. I thought he could take the info, do some research and write a story about it. Well the lazy Brit just decided to disclose the whole thing on his site. Now, I am going to suffer increased traffic to my site. You would think that given the FBI is all about secrecy he would understand our conversation was strictly confidential. I have known agents who were almost killed because of compromised information. What was he thinking? I might as well have told him my name was Valarie Plame. Things are completely screwed up for her now. Anytime she goes out of the country she’s got people pointing at her saying “The Plame, The Plame” like they were Tattoo from Fantasy Island.

VodPod - Another Blog Innovation
Publish or perish. Adapt or die. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Faced with the prospect of writing each day, with or without positive feedback but simply for the sake of integrity, you need to innovate because you never know when what you do will take you to that next level. After all, I have at least a few people getting this feed. You may be one of them reading it right now. I owe it to you/them and at the very least to myself (at this early stage) to have my best be better come rain or come shine. Today’s blog post is about our blog and it’s about innovation. I have uploaded a new video. It is one of the best Matrix Videos I have ever seen. It is simply awesome. I have updated the video section and posted the video there using a brand new video display technology. It is called Vodpod. I have been remiss to post videos each week without having a place to put the older ones where new visitors can view them. Vodpod serves as a Blog Video Jukebox. I can have a video gallery of early videos and still showcase the latest videos I want to feature. Enjoy.
Tomorrow is Today & Coming Attractions
Okay, welcome back to the conversation I started last month. Today is April 1st and I still intend to keep my promise of at least one post a day. When I last posted in March I talked about how March was the first step in the ladder to a future unimaginable. Now, I am building this next step called April. I could then use it to get to May and yet I don’t even know what April looks like yet so this is really exciting. It is already the start of April and I can say that my biggest accomplishment so far is that this is the earliest posting I have ever done compared to any previous one done in March. I can already feel the momentum of this new month. I am happy to include you all in the journey. In March, I mostly presented to you what software and hardware was out there and available to make your life more organized. In April, I hope to reveal more of the insights, ideas, and realizations of their implementation as well.

Tomorrow is the start of a new month
I usually post about Palm related hardware or software but today, as I find it a little challenging to write something along those lines, I thought I would try something different. This day marks the end of one month. I had made a promise, at the beginning of the month, to write at least one blog post everyday and I have. When I take the time to reflect on this as an accomplishment it gives me a tremendous sense of accomplishment. Some days came easier than others but there has never been the experience of looking back on it all and appreciating it without worrying about what I was going to do next. I don’t believe most of us take the time to look back on our accomplishments before going on to the next one. Having the benefit of knowing that just by clicking publish on my blog software before midnight today and making this promise a reality gives me the freedom to reflect on all this.

30 Days of Treo
Dreams can come true. As I blog away in my own little space in the big blog universe I realized that if I am going to write about Palms I should include their latest devices in my focus area. I have a nostalgic love for the big screen which is satisfied with my Zire 72 and Palm TX. What is missing is the whole Treo experience which adds the huge benefit of being a convergence device. I wasn’t sure if this is something I wanted to commit to either, given how I did not want to go smaller in screen real estate. I thought to myself maybe my little Palm Organized site could get help from the big Palm. Well, guess what? It arrived today in a Fed Ex Box. A Treo 680 review unit. I have 30 days to use the Treo and share my experiences with you about this amazing device.
