Apple’s Secret Plan to Top Palm - My Editorial

January 26, 2008This Blog2 Comments

Apple OrangeI think I have figured out Apple’s secret plan to topple Palm. It is really simple once you look at all the facts. In order for Apple to succeed they needed to get Palm to do certain things.

  • Get them to delay updating their OS for several years while you create ipods and itunes.
  • Have Palm end partnerships with hardware manufacturers like Garmin, Symbol, and Sony
  • Kill off their handhelds like the Lifedrive and make sure the TX does not get updated.

Palm (Organized.com) GTD Project Invite.

Palm Organized inviteI am pushing the envelope and starting to involve other people now. I have gotten much busier in recent times and have worked on several other projects, so why create another one? This one will actually help you and I “Get Things Done” on a whole other level. A level that could not happen left to my own devices. I am looking for only a few people to test this new system out and gather some valuable feedback. Hopefully while we are engaged in this project we’ll be able to get things done. Just send me an email if you’re interested and I will get back to you on what’s involved in a little while and pick a few of you to begin working with. This project will probably last about a month.

If you are familiar with GTD Bonsai even better. It would also be useful if you have things to get done want to authentically implement GTD and not just tweak your system. Again, if you are familiar with my system, have a sense of humor and can keep this project between us you just may fit the bill. Just send me an email at Palmorganizedatyahoo.com and tell me a little about yourself. Till then best wishes.

Creative Breakthrough! Now let’s dance for joy.

tip of the icebergI just wanted to take a moment to share with you all that I had creative breakthrough regarding my GTD Bonsai System. I have been stacking several breakthroughs already and not sharing them until their proper time. However, this particular breakthrough opens the door to a whole new realm of possibilities. I am just so happy at what is now possible that even though I have yet to debut it, I can’t help but sharing that it actually happened. I have said to some of you before that what I have showed you thus far is only the tip of the iceberg and I am not kidding. Among the past achievements at Palm Organized are

Get Fed Feed Icon
To make sure I get fed I use Google Reader. If you have a Gmail account getting a Google home page currently called iGoogle is a good move. I can see new emails, get weather and have my own desktop clock. One of the neat features of the particular theme I have chosen is that the sun in the theme rises and sets with the day. Your day sky becomes a night sky right before your eyes. One of the best things about the home page is the Reader you can place directly in the center of your home page. I get news from Palmaddict, Engadget, Palminfocenter, and Lifehacker to name a few. I don’t have to go and visit each site individually. It all gets delivered like a Sunday newspaper. If I do want to visit a site I just click on the site link below the article. I highly recommend subscribing to Palm Organized by RSS and if you prefer email delivery you have that option too. My feed makes a nice addition because a lot of info is exclusive and I won’t make an overload your feed catcher. I’ve included some snapshots of my Google page so you can get a sense of what it would be like to use Google Reader on a Google Home Page.

3 Grand Central Invites to the first 3 Callers!

Grand CentralThe gift of giving. What a wonderful thing. It’s almost as good as realizing you have something to give. I recently did a post on getting visual voicemail on your Palm with Grand Central. Grand Central is an amazing service that gives you a single number to consolidate all your other numbers. Click here to check out an entertaining and informative podcast on their service. They were recently bought out by Google. I recently discovered that now they are in beta and open invitation has shifted to invitation only. Current members are given a small number of invites that they can give to other.

So, as a current member, I would like to offer this to 3 wonderful Palm Organized readers out there. However, I do ask for something in return. You must be one of the first 3 people to leave a message with either their picture of that of their Palm. PalmVoicemail.com. It is a new site that I started that allows any Palm User to leave a message on a virtual Web 2.0 voice comment system. I would love to hear your thoughts about anything Palm related and I think others would too. After all, at this time more than any other there is so much to talk about. So there you have it. Two things not totally unrelated to each other because they both involve the phone. So pick up the phone and leave me a message and I’ll send you an invite and you too can have the gift of visual voicemail and all the wonderful features that made them a Google darling.

Call Me! Any time, Any place, Any where. Call Me!

Snapvine interface Yes you can call me at anytime, at anyplace, and from anywhere. This is one of those web 2.0 things that I believe has great potential. Some of you may recall that I used Jaxtr but that required you to input a number. This one works just like it would out in the real world. You dial a number and leave me a message. If you are not in the United States that is no problem just choose your country and leave me a message. Leave me a message telling me how you like the site, about the recent Palm Foleo or feedback about the GTD Template. You can even call just to say hi or share about using the palm. Your messages will be available online so share the best you can for all your fellow Palm Organized readers.Check out it out

“I’m Back!” on Track

Fox Mulder at Work Hello, Palm Org Readers. The time I took off was very productive. I even got a few posts in there while I was away as well. I think this blogging thing is really in my blood. I keep wondering what is it that I could be doing that I am not in terms of making this blog even better. I realized that a different way to think about it is to consider that I am already doing exactly what I need to do. All I need to do now is just add just a little more of me and a little more refinement each day. I don’t know if I am going to post every day. I definitely see the value of quality over quantity but also know they are not mutually exclusive.
