A perfect place for my X files. File drawer.

file drawerHere is a nice intuitive little program I found on the site for NS Basic (a palm development platform). It was one of the apps featured to show you what is possible using it as a development environment. I really like it. Anything that put any kind of alphabet structure on the Palm is good in my book. It fills a missing gap in my opinion when it comes to searching on the Palm. I absolutely adore the Quick look up feature in Contacts. This program as you can see allows you to organize all your memos through alpha tabs. Scroll through or tap a letter and all memos whose title start with that letter are listed right there for you. Better than graffiti look up, palm find or sometimes even categories. Now if only someone could duplicate Palm’s Quick Look Up feature in their application. If you don’t know what I am taking about check out my comparison blog post between it and the iPhone’s interface. Click here to find out about File Drawer

Filtering Video? Alien Technology!

April 12, 2007Notes, VideoNo Comments

I know a lot of people consider me a conspiracy theorist but there is just some evidence that is too compelling to be ignored. I found this secret video showing advanced filtering capabilities. Now, the video is listed as being uploaded on April 6th, 2006 but I had some lab technicians review the footage and they have told me it was most likely produced in 2000 which would mean this is pretty advanced for its time. I have had some sneaking suspicions that some of their projects seem to have the signature of The Lone Gunmen. I haven’t been able to find concrete evidence for this assertion but I want to believe that it could be a possible explanation for this unexplained footage. Don’t be fooled by the calendar at the beginning of the footage. It is often a tactic used to mislead. Footage is often predated for the future because actual dates would highlight even more how advanced this work is. Even at this time this seems to me more advanced than Shadowplan’s filtering capabilities.

Diddlebug, your digital Post it Note extraordinaire

Diddlebug Digital PadDiddlebug is one of the best freeware apps for Palm ever. Yes, I concur with Chris the Greenman who commented about it here. I also got his suggestion to focus more on the productivity and less on the filler news items. His audio comment regarding this is in my community section. I thought to myself what a wonderful combination since he has already assisted in providing a perfect candidate for a productivity post. Diddlebug serves as a digital notepad in that you can use your stylus to write quick notes using digital ink. You can even set alarms for them which makes this very flexible in the many different ways you can use it. You can use it as a cooking timer, appointment reminder, contact info collector, or anything you would use a notepad for. The alarms can be countdown, repeat, or specific. Diddlebug makes a perfect collection bucket.

Dreams in the Palm of your Hand

Dreams Palm ProgramThe great thing about palm software is that even though you can use the basic applications for just about anything a tailored program can be even better. I could write my dreams in the memo pad and put it in a category called dreams, but a dream diary program gives the activity of recording your dreams its own unique and wonderful place. There are also great little extra features specifically made for dream journaling that the memo app isn’t set up for. For instance, there are fields that address what kind of sleep you had & whether or not your dream was lucid. You can even have categories for your dreams. Another cool thing about this program is that it’s free. I looked for a program to track dreams and it always surprises and delights me when the best program for what I am looking for is free. Sleep is, for most people, a daily activity however recalling dreams is not. Having a place to record your dreams on your palm opens the possibility of dreaming every night. As an added bonus this information can be accessed on your desktop as well. This has been another daily post at Palm Organized.com and just in the nick of time too. Sweet dreams. New Daynotez Version Sneak Peek!

Daynotez ProgramNatara is a software company that just puts out great software. I sometimes struggle with writing about them here because I don’t want to give the impression that this is a site about Natara software. However, I must say that I do use their software so when I think of what to write about they naturally come to mind. This weekend’s post is about their upcoming version of their popular Daynotez program. This is a perfect diary/daily log type software. Your entries can be filtered in various ways and there is even a voice recorder app built-in that turns this into an audio diary. The new version pictures are quite promising. I will get more into the application at a later time but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek for now.
