Palm has a new Portal for Treo Users

Palm’s My Palm LogoPalm has released a web portal for its Treo mobile users. If you are a Treo owner you’re in luck. Some of the services include free 24/7 members-only phone support, direct notification of updates and new software, insider tips and how to’s, and a personal Palm account and home page. I think this is a major step in the right direction although I wish they could have extended this to traditional Palm Users and not just Treo users. There are still some of us out there. This site seems to be geared to the cellular mobile customer and would seem to tie in into a great way to get a customer demographic for these services and provide a store for a targeted market. There is a link for other devices but you are taken to the product page for your particular device on Palm.com. MyPalm beta is not a bad name but you’d think there would be an easily accessible url. I have not seen one yet from the articles on it that I have viewed. Click here to visit

Big Palm News - Analyst Day

Palm LogoSound the gongs! Big news from Palm about future projects. One of the biggest pieces of news is that they will develop a Palm Linux OS by the end of the year. This OS will be a Palm developed OS not at all related to Access. The guys at PalmAddicts have done a great job of covering every part of it. They even have a brochure like layout of the whole event. Just check out the following link - Click here.. You can also check out their video cast summation of the event by clicking here. The event was also an opportunity to let everyone know of their rich history in the handheld environment and their global reach around the world.

It sounds like Ifony and I can’t show it to you

Iphone PictureSome of you wish that Palm would come up with something to compete with the Iphone and some people have rushed something into production. The only thing about it is that it looks exactly like the Iphone. It is a skin that acts as a launcher for your Palm apps. I have seen the writing on the wall and it says if I want to talk with Apple Lawyers all I have to do is post a picture of it here. However, any advertisement for Apple’s upcoming product serves as a very good representation of what your Palm would look like minus the hardware specific inards and outards. One blogger was threatened with court action just for listing the picture which ironically looks almost exactly like the picture I have here if you zoom in to just the interface. I wonder if I could get sued just for saying this. If this was the case it would almost seem that if you have enough money you can control freedom of speech or freedom of speech about image. If you do a search for Iphony I am sure you’ll find the same info I did. What I will do is provide a link to the Brighthand Forum explaining why they had to take down their image and the software used to duplicate the look of the Iphone on your Palm. Click here

New Daynotez Version Sneak Peek!

Daynotez ProgramNatara is a software company that just puts out great software. I sometimes struggle with writing about them here because I don’t want to give the impression that this is a site about Natara software. However, I must say that I do use their software so when I think of what to write about they naturally come to mind. This weekend’s post is about their upcoming version of their popular Daynotez program. This is a perfect diary/daily log type software. Your entries can be filtered in various ways and there is even a voice recorder app built-in that turns this into an audio diary. The new version pictures are quite promising. I will get more into the application at a later time but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek for now.

Jeff Hawkins speaks about Palm’s “Destiny”

Jeff Hawkins Jeff Hawkins speaks. Finally, Palm fans will have something to look out for. Palm is talking about its plans for the future and it looks very promising. I don’t think this could have come at a better time given all the speculation about Palm being bought by who knows who. We probably would have liked to ask our own questions but we did get a little glimpse of what there is to look forward to.
