SplashID 4 - Palm Master App Upgrade

Splash ID 4SplashID 4 is here! This is a program I featured as a Palm Master App in a previous blog post - click here. This version adds a list of new features which I will list later on in this post. My favorite is the web auto-fill. This is a feature that was available in Turbo Passwords early on. I had emailed Splash ID to say what’s up and they said they had planned to release this as well. Web Auto-Fill eliminates that annoying practice of having to type in your username and password every time you want to log on to a site. I can’t tell you how much of a time saver this is for all the accounts I have online whether it is Amazon, Ebay, or any of my blog sites. Also worth a mention is the lockout feature on the Palm. If your Palm is lost or stolen an intruder will only have 10 goes at cracking your password before the system locks out completely. Click the Pic to go to Splash ID’s Page for more info. The following is a list of new features.

  • new Enhanced security - auto lock-out after 10 failed attempts, password strength meter, and password hint option
  • new Web Auto-Fill - one click to open a website on the desktop and login automatically! Prevents keyloggers from tracking your username and password.
  • new Synchronize multiple SplashID databases (with other version 4 database files only)
  • new Enhanced Lookup feature instantly displays relevant results as you type
  • new Email securely encrypted SplashID files to other users
  • new Add additional standalone desktop users
  • new Change the database and auto-backup file locations
  • new Toolbars give you button features where they are needed the most
  • new Updated icon set with enhanced high resolution graphics
  • new Fully Vista compatible

Up grade works great on desk top…too bad it doesn’t sync with the 3.32 version on my Treo 650. Sort of worthless isn’t it???

The SplashID service is horrendous…one of those you can’t talk to anyone shops, they only let you communicate via emall. That only works if the service people are intelligent and them only 50% of the time. When will these software people learn the meaning of “service”? People don’t want to talk to a machine when they have problems, they want to get their hands around someones throat.. My advice…don’t buy it.

Fox I am sorry to hear about your experience with their support. I hope you get your issue resolved. I thank you for sharing you thoughts. Good luck.
