Grand Central Mobile Opening ScreenVisual Voicemail is a possibility for your Palm. All you need is Wifi and a Grand Central Account. Grand Central is a personal phone number on steroids without all the bad consequences. They are so good that Google snatched them up pretty quick to add them to their portfolio. It would take several blog posts just to go over their features. Just click here to visit Grand Central.com for more info or better yet I highly recommend listening to David Pogue’s Podcast on it. It is a joy to listen to and you will be using the kind of foul language a truly amazed person uses. Grand Central has a mobile client that is accessible on portable devices with browsers. This is where the Palm comes in. You can manage your inbox of messages just like email. On my TX I can download messages to my SD card. It is a simple mp3 file but you may have to add the .mp3 extension to get it to play. Read more for another surprise.

Make Calls
The shock and awe doesn’t stop there. You can also browse your contacts on the phone and initiate a call. This is yet another way to use your Palm TX to make phone calls with an existing cheapo cell phone. (Click here for the other way)I believe the term used to describe this is click2call. Grand Central acts as an intermediary and calls you first, you pick up, then calls your party and then says adios. The interface may not be as elegant as the iPhone but it gets the job done. You experience may also depend on what browser you use. I can not recommend David’s Podcast more highly. You really must listen to it to get an overview that is both thorough and entertaining. If you have an ipod you can even download that particular show from iTunes (3/19/2007). More pics down below on other features available for management of your service. Did I mention listening to David Pogue’s podcast?

How about an invite to GrandCentral?
    :)

You mean an invite to the new internet darling, Google acquired amazing service that would cause someone to leave a smiley face when making the request. Of course, no problem.

I, too, would like something as well that I would consider precious. A pic and voice comment over at PalmVoicemail.com.

I hope you don’t feel like I am twisting your arm. All I ask for from someone like yourself who would visit a Palm site anyway is your honest thoughts about Palm whether that is related to using your device, iPhone comparison, thoughts about the company, etc.

Let’s start off with the first 3 unique voice comments with pics (pics can be of your Palm device if your shy) get invites.

    You’ve got first dibs Scott.
