Good stuff, Fox! Keep ‘em coming!

Actually, for those of us who might see how this can work, the videos are frustrating because we aren’t being shown how to set this system up. You need to work us step by step through the process of setting this up. The videos provide an overview of capabilities but not much in actual step by step process.
I look forward to more, but based on what I’m seeing, I won’t spend the time or money on Bonsai and the GTD until I can follow the setup step by step. A Dummies approach would be helpful.

I understand wanting a step by step approach
but the template was made to overcome that in some way.
I assume what is missing for you is the set up of the filters
which I found out I can include in the template so stay tuned.
I’ll also see about doing a write up for dummies as well.
Thanks for your feedback

It’s the filter settings that make it work, and it’s the filter settings I can’t get right.
Maybe a blog or post on how you use the filter functon would explain the functionalitiy better. If you can use filters to the level you do, you won’t be able to understand our problems.

I had a misunderstanding about the filters being included in the template. However, I think your feedback about filters makes a good potential video. I think it is the missing piece so stay tuned.
I’d really like to get all this stuff about the original system out of the way so I could work on the 2.0 version so thank you for addressing this.

I am not quite following your project integration. Is this how it works:
Typically, a project is an outline of nested tasks and sub-tasks.
I would create an outline somewhere in the current file for projects (perhaps a top level item names projects). I would add the project name to the category field of these tasks. I could also have start and/or due dates on these project tasks. These project tasks would then appear in the next item on Calendar as appropriate.
I don’t see the value of listing items associated
Fox You are correct this totally breaks the child of Next Action Parent functionality in Bonsai. This implementation is more context centered. Projects would be more manageable with a few feature requests I have made. I am crossing my fingers. The videos of Zooming through contexts display the usefulness of this implementation.

Fox, I’ve finally looked at the videos and they help enormously. Now I feel I can really begin with GTD Bonsai. Just wish Natara would do something like this for writing filters! Although the SimpleProductivity Blog approach to a Bonsai template (more complex) does have some detail in this area. Thanks to all those who help the rest of us by putting in public the results of their creativity!

I only recently stumbled onto GTD (yes, I’ve been living in a cave) and this looks like a very promising take on it. Please forward the outline at your convenience.
Thanks,
David
