Palm Foleo?
News of Palm’s latest device seems to have given us a few details. Of course there will be more to follow after the announcement and hopefully pictures but here are a few breaking links.

I hate it. It’s just a mini-laptop. Why couldn’t the software put into that be something developed for Mac and PC? Why another semi-capable thing to lug around?
I carry my Treo because it has the few functions I need while I’m away from my desktop/laptop. When it is time to sync, I don’t want a partially capable device handling this - I want something that can take that data and push it to Google or Yahoo or locally.
Very disappointing.

Palm is close to what will be the tool that will be the pre-cursor to the personal communicator. A phone is just a phone, a smart phone is just smart, a Foleo is smart mobile. Foleo is a distruptive technology…if only followed to its logical point….the personal communicator. Its competitors, if Folio reaches critical mass, Folio is a threat. If it was priced with a Palm phone with a Folio an extra $177.77 more I would switch from my T-mobile in an instant. Instant functionality, mobility…instant intelligence in a word…that is what the Folio represents.
