Javoedge Case
Whenever I get a new Palm one of my first purchases is a case. Usually the one that comes with the Palm doesn’t cut it. Rather than taking up any kind of insurance program for cracked screens I would rather avoid that and get a case that will make that that situation very unlikely. One of the best cases (and one I use currently) is the JAVOedge clear case for my Zire 72. It totally surrounds my device and yet I have access to all the main inputs and outputs.
The best part of this whole thing is that I can use my Palm without even taking it out of the case for most things. If I have to use the screen to write or tap on, all I have to do is flip the front cover and it swings all the way back and rests on the back of my hand till I am ready to flip it back. I never have to remove the whole case. Even though the case adds some size to my Zire it is still small enough to fit in my Lowepro side pouch case. I have used the Zire 71/72 for so long that I haven’t even looked at their other cases that much but they do have some nice accessories as well. They started off with Palm and have now branched out to practically any portable device.

I totally agree! Even though I tend to be a bit anal about the condition and protection of my PDA’s, there are those few moments when they’ll accidentally fall from my pocket. My worst drop ever was when I was disembarking from a van that had a really high seat. My PDA crashed onto the concrete with the sound echoing loudly throughout the park garage area. My heart skipped a beat until I realized that it was covered with a case. The only damage was the scratch from the drop on the cover and my stylus jolted out of the silo. That was it! cases and I have quite a few, are the first accessory that I always buy to protect my investment. Javoedge is one of the industry leaders, too.

My preference has been to use the Proporta aluminum cases for my Palms. Maybe a little less accessible then the Javoedge but it is able to sustain backpocket crushes, 3 foot drops and carry two extra SD cards.

I can see what you mean. I’ve included pics above so other readers can see what you are referring to.
They are not bad. I especially like the 2 card slots.

I too like to have a case that makes everything easily accessible without removing it. I need to know how much weight they’ll add to the Palm because I can’t carry too much weight and be comfortable due to disability. I haven’t used screensavers recently even though I like them as well for protection because I don’t like the cutting needed to customize them.

I bought a case from Boxwave.com that I love for my TX It’s called: “Armor case”. I’ve used it constantly for 5 months and it is still very sturdy and shows no signs of wear. It’s absolutely crushproof for pockets or purse. It also has cutouts in all the right places. I do not use it on the belt clip, though it came with one. I tried an acrylic case, but had trouble opening and closing it - so I returned it. It wasn’t the one you recommended though.
