I am running a demo of Bonsai 4.1.2 I own 3.x but hadn’t upgraded. I’m trying 4.x b/c of your post about the new way Bonsai navigates its outlines; you liken it to the way the iPod works. Well, since using 4.x, I have not gotten it to work that way. And now that I have seen your video, I find this new feature really exiting. Is there a particular setting I need to make to enable this feature?
Thank you for your reply. It caused me to rename my post. It is actually Bonsai “Zoom” Navigation in Action.
The settings that make this possible are available in the following menus
> Global Setings >Nav (tab)
Under the 5 way DPad settings choose
Left-Right v Zoom Out-in
Up-Down v Cursor up-down
Thank you for your question and participation.

Ok, I guess I’m slow, but I’m still confused. When I open the >Global Settings > Nav (tab) on my Palm in Bonsai 4.1.2 I see:
Select
Left-Right
Option L-R
Up-Down
Option U-D
Kindly tell me what goes in each of these slots to make your navigation zoom scheme work.
Thanks!

Thank you! I love this zoom feature and wouldn’t have found it without your instructions.
If you can influence Natara, please get them to add more customizable columns (like all the columns in Ilium’s ListPro - I am spoiled from the endless customization possibilities in ListPro). Any idea when Natara will issue the next upgrade to Bonsai?
I’m still using your Bonsai GTD template. Thanks!
Any prediction of when your surprise/sequel is coming out?
FRANK - Hello Frank, I sent you an email directly but I’ll reiterate here for other folks who have the same questions.
Don’t worry about Option L-R or Option U-D. Just set the Left- Right and Up - Down settings to what I mentioned above.
TERESA - If you haven’t already you can check my video interviews with them. They say not before June but who knows. The forums are a good place to register your requests and I have quite a few myself.
Good to hear this is working for you.
I am planning for midnight tonight for anyone who is a weekly newsletter subscriber and sometime later on for those who are not. If you got the newsletter yesterday. You are included.
It will be a recipe type hack that will be even better than the GTD template. I am still working on it but it should be ready to be plated tonight.
Thank you for your comment.

Hi Fox - I`d like to try the Bonsai GTD template mentioned above. Also, what do you think about using Bonsai for a contact management tool. I`ve been using Handbase and it has some nice features but I`ve had some problems with losing data.
thanks Cliff dougherty

I think it makes a great contact manager particularly because of the zooming features. I have not really taken advantage of all the options available to a potential user yet. I probably will do some write up about this. And yet I find it hard to beat the quick look up feature of the built in contact manager. I actually find this currently the best around. You can locate, initiate a call to any number, email, shift categories, etc all with one thumb.

Fox - Your demo of the filters is terrific! However I am having one problem. I enter a contact for today and then choose the Today filter and keep getting a pop up that says there are no items that match the filter. Any suggestions?
Do you have any other demos that would apply to sales or contact management - I think I remember reading something about a template. I`m also having trouble figuring out how to use keywords for sorting information.
