Bring variety to your Palm alarms

Geek Sounds Alarm SetA pet peeve for me is hearing the “Deedle! Deedle!” Palm Alarm from someone who hasn’t figured out they have other options. This “Deedle” sound may have been amusing like back in 1996, but come on after all these years why did newer Palms hold on to this convention? Was there a limited supply of midi alarms that could be used on a Palm? Did we really have to wait till we got to Palm phones to vary the selection a little?

Well, for all you regular PDA users prepare to add some variety to your alarms. One of my favorite oldie but goodie alarm collections I have on my palm right now is Geek Sounds. This came out quite a while ago and it shows in its alarm options. I, however, find it quite nostalgic. You have alarms from Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Star Wars, Twilight Zone, and of course the X Files. Please don’t think that from this brief sample that I have given you any sense of the selection. Your best bet is to download it and check it out. It is free. You have some great 80’s songs, movies, and classic TV shows as well but you will most likely be surprised with what you find by checking it out.

This works perfectly with Diddlebug in that you can select custom alarms sounds depending on the alarm very easily. The only downside is that some of the alarms are a little off key and/or high pitched. However, there are plenty of good ones on there and considering the whole thing is free, you really can’t lose. You can click the following link to add it to your collection

Thanks for the Geek sounds - good idea for a post - it’s the little things that count sometimes.
