Palm Org Exclusive - ToDo Plus Archiver Hack

To do plus Palm ProgramThis is one for those Bonsai Users who prefer an alternative to exporting your Bonsai items to the built-in To Do/Task program or Daynotez. So here is what I visualized. I wanted to be able to track how many next action items I completed per hour each day. This would mean that I could go back to 2 months from now and find out what I had accomplished on that date between the hours of 2pm - 3pm. Way cool! How do I know on that day that those Bonsai items were completed between the hours of 2pm-3pm if there are no fields for time in To Do Plus or Bonsai?

Simple, I simply renamed all my categories in hourly intervals from 7am - 10pm. Now all I need to do is link any completed items in Bonsai to go to To Do Plus. I make sure to select To Do Plus as the destination program for to dos. When I go to To Do plus I just select the appropriate category hour. Why do I use To Do Plus? Well, one advantage of To Do Plus is that the drop downs for categories (time) and date are right next to each other. This makes it a 2 step process to select a previous date and hour. Also it has this cool summary screen where I can see (provided all items are the same priority) a total daily count of completed Next Action items for each hour.

The only snag is that you need to uncheck & recheck the to do in To Do Plus to have the due date match the completion date. Just make sure you do this processing on the hour. You will be able to be present to your accomplishments for each hour of the day and this can spur on a momentum. You can even compare your productivity to the same time yesterday. Each item can automatically import the note text from Bonsai and you can go “Back to Bonsai.” This does not even touch upon that I could add a drawing for each to do item as well any other uses I haven’t even explored yet given the To Do Plus functionality. Let me know what you think in the comments or expand on this hack. Excuse me while I check off “complete a blog post” for the hours between 2pm-3pm.
