Quickphone Screenshot Being organized without annoying people could actually have people be inspired by your new practices. What doesn’t inspire people is taking their phone number on your palm (and their time by the way) while you pepper your dialogue with “okay, hold on, okay, hold on.” You’ll recognize these utterances as words that accompany missed graffati strokes and the rolling eyes of the person your impressing with your tech skills. You may want to grab a pen and paper and improve your social skills by not having the person cater to your lack of facility with the stylus. Unless of course you have the palm program Quickphone. Quickphone allows you to enter numbers, quicker than you can say “OK, hold on.” The great thing about Quickphone, is that it’s a year 2000 program that still works with Palm OS 5. I tried this out on my Zire 72, and the TX with no problems.

The idea behind this program is that you have a large keypad to enter numbers quickly. You can even set up, the kind of formatting, that will be the default for the numbers you enter (for example 212 555-1212) There is also an option for you to enter the first name, last name, email, company, and even the category that the contact is going into. It’s really simple and really quick. In fact, if you choose to enter the name youself you can have the person enter their own number. Just a few taps on the dial pad and it may even be quicker than using pen and paper. Oh, I forgot the other great thing about this program is that it’s FREE! Now, when someone needs you to take down their number they’ll be the ones who will be saying, “Hold on, Okay.”
